The prostate is an important segment of the male reproductive system. It is a land that is located in the lower abdominal cavity, just below the bladder, in front of the rectum and behind the pubic bone. It partially surrounds the urethra. The urethra is the channel that carries urine to the penis from the bladder and it runs right through the prostate. A healthy prostate is about the size of a walnut, weighs approximately 1 ounce and is shaped similar to a donut.
Symptoms Of Prostate Problems
Enlargement of the prostate is called benign prostate hypertrophy, or BPH. While this growth is usually considered a nuisance, if a man experiences problems with burning, or difficult urination at any time, the prudent course of action is consulting a urologist.
Other symptoms may be:
* A feeling of having to push out urine
* A sensation that the bladder is not emptying
* Increased urinating, especially at night
* Intermittent starting and stopping of the urinary stream
After a diagnosis of BPH, many men will just continue to live with the symptoms and subsequent discomfort. It is not a life threatening condition, and there are treatments. In some cases surgery might be considered if the enlargement is significant.
Ignoring BPH can be extremely dangerous and lead to other disease such as kidney infections or damage as the urine can back up into the kidneys because of the blockage of an enlarged prostate. There can also be an occurrence of bladder infections.
There is a huge difference between BPH and prostate cancer. BPH is a normal part of aging. Prostate cancer is a condition where prostate cells grow exponentially and out of control. These cells create tumors that may spread to any part of the body.
Numerous health organizations report that 1 in 6 men will experience prostate cancer. However, if the condition is diagnosed early, approximately 99% of
them will survive. The key is early detection.

BPH
BPH is usually progressive because the prostate tends to enlarge as a man ages. Such enlargement may lead to obstruction of the urethra and interfere with urine flow. BPH is sometimes treated with surgery through the urethra or the lower abdomen to remove prostate tissue that is putting excess pressure on the urethra. BPH is not cancer. An enlarged prostate can be a nuisance, but it is usually not a serious problem.
BPH is a disease of the aging male population with a dramatic increase in incidence after the age of 50 years of age. BPH will affect approximately 50 percent of men between the ages of 51 and 60 and up to 90 percent of men over the age of 80 (AUA 2003). BPH is a common urological condition characterized by painful and bothersome symptoms that include difficulty in initiating a urine stream, a sense of urgency, leaking, dribbling and presence of blood in the urine. BPH is a progressive disease, meaning it will not get better with time, it will get worse.
Drugs For BPH
Drugs such as Flomax are known as alpha blockers and work to relax the muscles around the prostate and bladder to help the flow of urine. Newer drugs such as Avodart or Proscar, in the category known as 5a-reductase inhibitors, actually work to shrink the prostate itself. Drug treatment, although useful for some patients, does not strongly improve symptoms in the majority of patients. Even with the current range of treatments, many patients with symptomatic BPH elect to avoid any current treatment due to risks and side effects.
Research On BPH
Although Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is one of the most common diseases of aging men – affecting more than 20 million men in the United States – its etiology is far from being completely understood. Data from ongoing research suggest BPH and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) are more complex conditions than once thought.
Researchers have found that men with higher levels of the ” JM-27″ had the less severe form of BPH, whereas men with low levels of JM-27 had the worse form of the disease based on their symptoms.
Research has also demonstrated the ability of the herb saw palmetto to reduce the size of the prostate, frequency of urination, and to act as a urinary antiseptic and diuretic. Though side effects are rare, mild GI disturbances have been noted.

Recommendations
You can optimize your long-term prostate health by:
1) Reversing Damage – Years of stressful living caused damage to your body. To help reverse this, Ayurstate releases hundreds of phytonutrients that act at the molecular level to repair damaged tissue, rejuvenate your prostate gland, inhibit polyamines and prostaglandins, tone smooth muscles in your urinogenital system, and reduce inflammation of the urethra and prostate gland.
2) Increasing Soy Intake – Researchers believe that the increasing estrogen-to-testosterone ratio brought on by aging is one of the factors that adversely affects the size of the prostate gland. 2 ounces or more of soy in your daily diet will help decrease estrogen levels and restore proper estrogen-to-testosterone ratio that becomes skewed as men get into their 60s and beyond. Good sources of soy include tofu (soybean curd), miso, tempeh, roasted soy nuts, and soy flour or powder.
3) Increasing Selenium Intake – Selenium is essential for good prostate health. Selenium-rich foods include wheat germ, tuna, herring and other seafood and shellfish, beef liver and kidney, eggs, sunflower and sesame seeds, cashews, Brazil nuts, mushrooms, garlic, onions, and kelp.
4) Increasing Zinc Intake – 15 mg of zinc are needed daily for healthy prostate function. Pumpkin seed in the shell, oysters, beans, and nuts are excellent sources of zinc.
5) Minimizing Alcohol Consumption – Alcohol depletes both zinc and vitamin B6 (which is necessary for zinc absorption).
6) Eating Healthy – Eat lots of fruits and vegetables to get the necessary antioxidants in your diet. Avoid saturated fats, sugars and processed foods. High-fat foods like meats and dairy products can elevate testosterone level which stimulates prostate cell growth and enlargement.
7) Supplementing Diet – Take a daily multivitamin supplement which includes at least the following for supporting prostate health – Vitamin A (25,000 IU), Vitamin E (1,200 IU), and Lycopene (10 mg).
Improving Circulation – Perform Kegel exercises to improve blood flow to the prostate and urinogenital tissues. Kegel exercises are done by pulling up all the muscles around the scrotum and anus, holding, and releasing. 10 repetitions of this movement, 5-6 times daily will maximize blood flow to your prostate gland.
9) Adopting Healthy Lifestyle – Get sufficient rest and exercise regularly. Regular exercise has been shown to strengthen the immune system and improve digestion, circulation, and the removal of waste matter from the body. Exercise also prevents obesity, which is a risk factor for many diseases, including cancer. Regular exercise may also reduce the risk of prostate gland enlargement.

Prostate concerns part two.
Prostatitis is becoming more frequent in men. The main difference between BPH and prostatitis is that the latter often incurs pain.
Acute prostatitis can be quickly resolved. Chronic is much more of a problem due to what remains unknown. Some famous urologists have even written books admitting they do not know what is going on or how to treat it.
Meanwhile, antibiotics are shotgun prescribed, without even testing done to determine that the problem is bacterial, or not, in nature. PLEASE understand that I am NOT for the use of antibiotics, EXCEPT FOR as a last resort. There are plenty of other alternatives that are far healthier to try first. I reference them here simply to help educate.
What happens when you treat a yeast/fungal condition with antibiotics? You FEED it of course, making it worse.
Heavy metal toxicity: Believe it or not, one man has claimed “total symptom relief” from his prostate problems within a short time after having all of his mercury amalgam fillings removed. Not hard to believe…oral infections or toxicities readily travel to other parts of the body, sometimes with even fatal results. The dentists of our future will be “whole body” dentists paying strict attention to what is going into our mouths.
I suggest the use of zeolite WITH the edta because although the edta will be great at dislodging the heavy metals, the zeolite can then GRAB the metals and escort them safely out of the body…instead of potentially latching on in other parts of the body possibly causing even more problems.
There is a more “mechanical” theory regarding prostatitis involving the muscles of the pelvic floor. It’s believed that a constant and involuntary tension, a “headache in the pelvis” as one book title refers to it, is what men are dealing with.
But if we have a pathogen in that part of our bodies, with pain ociated, won’t the pelvis naturally “clench” in an effort to protect itself?
I bounced around a bit on topics here between inflammation vs infections, but since we always have inflammation in conjunction with infections, they got tied in.
If you are not interested in using the “Pro-State” massager as suggested in the first video for BPH or inflammatory concerns, then you can consider epilobium over the pharmaceutical prescriptions pushed on men via TV ads (rhymes with “Mlow-Flax”). If you take this drug, you will not be able to pee, in all likelyhood, once you STOP taking it. I’ve witnessed this with a friend.
In my opinion, the massage via the Pro-State massager or manual massage by a qualified practitioner are not optional if you are dealing with painful prostatitis, and are often helpful with any/all prostate issues.
Thanks for watching, hope my info is helpful to any man suffering from these conditions.

Prostate inflammation, leading to restricted urination, bladder & kidney infections and other complications, is the number one reason why men over 50 visit their medical doctors. Currently there are three medications used for this problem and they are only about 35 to 40 percent effective. They have considerable side effects in many users as well. The surgical procedure often used for moderate to advanced prostate inflammation or BPH, has many potentially serious side effects including loss of sensation, incontinence and impotence. Prostate inflammation or enlargement is often best managed through the use of herbal extracts, amino acids and nutrients. Many thousands of men are avoiding the side effects of drug therapy and the dangers of surgery and are completely controlling their prostate inflammation and enlargement, called BPH, naturally. saw palmetto, probably the most common herb for prostate problems, is only the beginning of our Targeted approach to good prostate health. By combining saw palmetto with pygeum africanum, select amino acids, nutrients and antioxidants, we have been able to raise the percentage of positive results considerably, while offering all these essential co-factors in one easy to take formulation. The use of Saw palmetto and Pygeum africanum together, increases the potential benefit of both. By adding key amino acids and other herbal extracts Saw palmetto and Pygeum africanum are much more effective against BPH, or commonly referred to as prostate enlargement. Natural alternatives for supporting prostate health have been around for some time, but by combining these known agents together in the right ratios, we can make a much more powerful natural alternative formula for prostate health and well-being.
